Valentina Merlo ⎮ voice teacher

Originally from Córdoba in Argentina, soprano Valentina Merlo first studied at the National University of the Arts in Buenos Aires, then specialized at the opera studio of the Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires), before obtaining a Master Concert at the Haute École de musique de Lausanne (2020) in the class of Leontina Vaduva.

Valentina performs in French-speaking Switzerland in the choirs of the Lausanne Opera and the Grand Théâtre de Genève, and with the Cantatio and Post Tenebras Lux ensembles. Since 2021, she has been one of the most active artists with the Les Concerts du Coeur association, with her duets Transfiguration and Merlo-Reggiani.

Through the Zipoli singing school (Córdoba) and her family, she discovered the world of popular music as well as classical music and today devotes herself to these two repertoires. In January 2023, Valentina released her first popular music album, Rio, as a singer-songwriter.

As a teacher, she is convinced that singing is a path to self-discovery where people can find their own way of being and expressing themselves. She listens to students and parents to adapt her way of teaching (musical styles, method and teaching approach).
