STRING ENSEMBLE

Course on Thursdays from 17h00 to 17h40.

This course is designed for intermediate to advanced students who play a string instrument (violin, viola, cello) and wish to develop their musical experience in a group setting.

Pedagogical objectives:

  • Ensemble Work: Learn to play in synchronization with other musicians, developing active listening and respect for collective rhythm.

  • Musical Development: Deepen the interpretation of works by exploring nuances, dynamics, and articulations specific to ensemble music.

  • Varied Repertoire: Explore a wide range of musical styles, from Baroque to contemporary, including arrangements of popular music.

  • Instrument Technique: Strengthen technical mastery of the instrument through focused work on complex passages in the scores.

  • Collective Expression: Encourage personal expression while maintaining group cohesion to produce a harmonious and balanced interpretation.

Course Structure: The weekly string ensemble sessions include group warm-ups, work on repertoire pieces, and specific exercises to improve sound cohesion. Students will have the opportunity to participate in AMC concerts and other musical events throughout the year, allowing them to share the results of their work with an audience.
